So, I confess. I really like desserts. Mostly ice cream, but really anything. I try to still eat them sparingly, or at least small portions but even more lately my mind has frequently been drawn to what kind of dessert would quench my sugar-thirst. Luckily, I don't usually have these things on hand, but I gave in and bought some cookies at the store which I usually can turn down. I'm getting weak!
Then Karie decides she is going off sugar for awhile and somehow convinced me to do it with her. I figure my cravings were probably a sign that I've given too much into temptation lately so I guess this is the door to take to help me back off, and regain my sugar-fighting abilities.
She also convinced me to post about it to make it feel more official. So, we're starting with two weeks. I should be able to handle that no problemo. Hopefully.
Luckily I just got another bag of spinach to keep me occupied....

Excellent! good luck. I too have participated in a "treats" fast. The longest I've gone is a month. It is good times. I found that fruit helped when i needed something sweet but nothing, NOTHING could replace chocolate. It was sorely missed. Again, good luck. :)
So, I just tried the brownie dessert thingy, but I didn't have brownies so I used chocolate cake. It wasn't as good as it would have been with brownie mix, but I put cherry pie filling on mine and it was great!
Good luck with the sugar thing. I think sugar would be easier than carbs or peanut butter for me.
Rus, it's me again. Guess what, I think i'm going to go on a dessert fast too. I will allow myself popsicles but nothing of the dessert variety. I haven't 100% committed yet but I'm just about to. When I eat ice cream every day and am tempted to buy something by Entenmann's, it is time. So good work, passing on the healthy.
