August 16, 2006--new address

I feel like I had a bunch of cool things to write this week, and then I went through my planner and I couldn't figure out what. So, I apologize if this isn't as cool as it should have been. I'll start from today, maybe the other will come.

First off, I moved today. What a pleasureably fun time.... I think all the other missionaries enjoyed using their pday to help us too :) But it's done, and it looks pretty good. We've been packing most of the stuff throughout the week and had most everything gathered at least. The hardest part was trying to get the huge 30 year old metal desks through the doorways into the bedroom. It was fun to watch:) Anyway, we're moved, and our new address is:

145 Van Buren Ave #7,
Ravenna OH 44266.

And my name is Sister Salisbury, incase you're rusty.

They also put new sisters mid transfer in the Kent area that we were covering. So we lost some of our investigators. Prasad, Sarai and Doris (who I don't think I mentioned anyway) are now not ours. I'm excited to have sisters around again. It was getting really old only having Elders around. Not that I don't like Elders...we just need girl time :) It'll be interesting to have 4 sisters in the same ward. I've never had that before.

We had some pretty good lessons this week. We taught Homer again. He's a man we'd met a while ago but he didn't want to read or commit but he'd always get watery eyes whenever we'd talk. He finally admitted to us that he couldn't read, which answered a lot. We got him the Book of Mormon on cassette but apparately he only has a CD/DVD player. We're working on it. So far he's watched Lamb of God, Finding Faith in Christ, and we just gave him the Restoration. He asks lots of questions and they're all answered by the doctrine of the church.

We're also teaching a man named Jim. He's a barber and an ex-body builder. Interesting combo I know, but he's cool, and he likes the Book of Mormon. We taught him at a members house and he gets disappointed when we don't call him. It's refreshing to have people that enjoy being called. Today though our phone's not working. Ah.

We met a cool guy named Johnathan too. He's read everything religious including the Book of Mormon. We were a bit skeptical at first but he's open to learn and says he thinks everything in the Book of Mormon is accurate. We have a return appointment for Friday. Then he wants us to meet his two pet wolves :)

Well, that's going to be it for now. We have a list of stuff to get for our apartment and are just getting started. Curtians namely, and we're on ground level. Creepy. Thanks for all your letters and emails. I'm sorry I don't get back better, but know you're all appreciated. Also, I got pictures developed that I need to pick up. I'll try to get those to people so that you can all see at least some of them.

Alofa mucho,
Sister Salisbury
