Quick update for the week…It's been crazy. So many abnormal thing happened that changed up the schedule.
First note, I'm getting transferred tomorrow. Rocky River has finally had enough of me. I'm going to Ravenna, a more "country" area I hear, for which I'm excited. Other than the Spanish areas, Rocky River is pretty much the smallest, and Ravenna's one of the bigger ones. The areas of Kent and Stow are both currently closed and they're next to Ravenna, so we get to cover them sometimes too. Location wise, Ravenna in South and East of where I am. I had the address, but I left it at home. I was trying to bypass the forwarding thing since it takes a few days and I'm impatient, but for now send stuff to the Mission Office (the Westlake address). They'll work it out.
I'm ready for a change, but it's been a pain to have to pack. It's a bus transfer and if you leave from the Cleveland bus stop you have the same restrictions as planes…namely 50 lbs or less. If I had a reliable scale it'd be a lot easier. I had to acquire a summer wardrobe since I've been here so I have a few more things….
This area's doing well. Apparantely I failed to mentioned the name, Michael Domaneck (Catholic and came to church)—he is doing well. We had an amazing experience last Wednesday night and he totally recognized the truthfulness of the gospel. We had set up a demo of cups representing Christ's church and the church today and afterward he just looked at it nodding and said, "I think I get it…" We had been thinking that he was just coming to pacify us, but he's really amazed with everything and admitted that he's been getting more and more disappointed with the Catholic church. He admires the members and how they actually live their religion. He's been out of town this week so it's been hard to teach again, but it's still progressing.
Yesterday we took the mission president's daughter Aimee tracting with us. We actually had a good day for it—no one yelled at us, and we found an amazing family. When we asked to share the message with her she said sure and then called her three kids and made them all come outside on the porch and listen. She said her husband was also having problems believing the Catholics and had been looking for something. We explained all the classes for the kids and how we take the sacrament etc, and she loved it all. "We" have an appointment on Thursday with them, but I won't be in the area anymore. Sis. Rios is training a new missionary so it'll be a good experience for her the first night. I'm excited for what will happen.
That's all I'm gonna write for today. We've got a busy day ahead and my computer screen keeps shaking and making me dizzy. Thanks for all your support.
Alofa mucho, (trademark of Sis. Rios)
Sister Salisbury
